Before setting out on your own, check the weather report. The weather can change quickly in the mountains! Make sure you have enough water with you, as well as an emergency kit. Don't forget cold and/or wet weather gear, sunglasses, sunscreen. In winter, make sure your vehicle is well equipped, with snow tires and chains. In this way you'll derive the maximum pleasure from your outdoor adventure.
